According to European Union (EU) law, sellers of consumer goods within the EU are obliged to guarantee the conformity of the goods with a contract, for a period of minimum two years. This period can be longer in certain EU countries, depending on national law. As the final seller, you are responsible to the consumers who have the right to ask you to repair or replace the product or to reduce the price or reimburse them. As a distributor, you can also seek redress from the manufacturer.

You can ask the European Consumer Centre in the relevant country if you need more information on the national requirements concerning consumer guarantees. For further assistance, you can also contact the members of the Enterprise Europe Network.
